Hi 3AH, Mrs Pezaro and Goldie! Just a quick note to let you all know that me and Miss Steel are learning lots in Spain but I miss you all very much. I hope you enjoyed half term and are working hard. Looking forward to seeing you next week.

Lots of love,

Project Ole!

February 12, 2010

Year 3 have been very lucky to have been part of the 6 week project where staff from Nottingham Forest Football Club have come to school to teach sessions which mix Spanish language with football skills. We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learnt lots! We are now looking forward to our final week when we get to visit the City Ground for a presentation and guided tour! 3AH and 3SW would like to say a big ‘gracias’ to all of the Forest team involved. We hope you will come back and visit when we have our fantastic new building and sports facilities!

Thank you Graham and Matt for making Spanish so much fun!

Our trip to Birmingham Sea Life Centre

January 14, 2010
On Thursday 14th January Year 3 went on a trip to the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham.  We had a fantastic time and saw lots of unsual and interesting sea creatures including sharks, turtles and sting rays.  We also enjoyed a Rock Pool interactive workshop where we found out about starfish and crabs.  We got to touch them too!  3AH then voted that I  (Miss Holliday) should give one of the crabs a kiss!  Luckily it was a plastic crab and not a real one!

We learnt a lot and had a brilliant day.  More pictures to follow soon!

Super Science!

November 27, 2009

This half term we have been learning all about the skeleton.  We have a friendly class skeleton called Bert who very kindly let us label his bones!

We used I.C.T. to make skeleton fact sheets to show off all of our clever knowledge!  Here’s one made by Isobel…Isobel's skeleton fact sheet

and another by Brooklyn and Dane…

See if you can answer our science challenge question…

Anderson shelter challenge!

October 3, 2009

As part of our work on World War 2, 3AH made their own Anderson bomb shelters using different materials.  We then dropped Blu Tack bombs on them to see which shelters were the strongest!  We had a lot of fun and all of the children did a brilliant job!
